Our origins

In 1958, Gonzalo Ríos and Purificación Cagigas founded a family microbusiness dedicated to the manufacture of ice cream wafers. His beginnings were hard, starting from scratch, without any business training, guided only by a great entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with a lot of work and sacrifice. The germ was planted in the basement of the building where they lived, working in a very artisanal way. Purification supervising production and at the same time raising four children, Gonzalo focused on commercial and distribution work. In 1982 they made a qualitative leap and moved their facilities to a 1,200 m industrial warehouse. modernizing machinery and production.


The crisis that Spain suffered in 2007 also affected the company, forcing its managers to implement changes to adapt to a changing market, we had to be competitive, grow in the national market and explore the international market. By then, the second generation, their children, were already working alongside the founders, who immersed themselves decisively in a process of modernizing machinery and conquering foreign markets.

In 2020, GONZALO RIOS, SL once again expanded its facilities and began a process of professionalizing processes and people to successfully complete the project that began in 1958.
